What is it?

The short name is CTRL-REF and with it you can see the controls that exists for a certain aircraft. You can also modify the control's value/position, for example extend the flaps or toggle a switch, turn a radio dial.

Why?

With CTRL-REF you can:

  • validate that you DCS-BIOS installation works properly
  • get to know your aircraft and its controls
  • see how controls behave before you actually start program your device/panel

Alternatives

The original CTRL-REF was a Google Chrome plugin. Google has since said that it is removing support for those plugins.

There are currently two alternatives:

BORT is a CTRL-REF page that contains all information needed if you are doing Arduino programming. It is a fast, lightweight application. You will find the latest release here.

These applications do not need any other setting than the path to the DCS-BIOS JSON files.
