Exporting Seeds

Every couple of weeks, seeds must be exported to the Internet Archive. This is done via a CSV file, simply follow the instructions below.

  1. Log into the archive
  2. Go to http://jdarchive.org/export/
  3. Take note of the last seed exported
  4. Click the link to go the next page, this page will have the text content of the CSV
  5. copy & paste this into a plain text file and save it with a .csv extension

Only 1000 items are exported at a time, it is recommended that you keep copying and refreshing the CSV page until it returns blank once

Notes

  1. Once you click the link and the page renders, the "last exported seed" ID will be incremented. Do not leave this page until you have copied the data.
  2. If you do this and need to re-export a set of seeds, you must change the id found in web/lastExport.txt This file is not in the repository and only located on the production server. You can change this using the createLastExport.sh file found in /var/www/jda

If you receive an error message stating that lastExport.txt is gone, use createLastExport.sh on the production server in /var/www/jda to create a new one.
