Source Controlled Files (SCF) vs. Local Files (LF)

The major difference between SCFs and LFs are that Github keeps track of LFs but not SCFs. If you make edits to an LF, then Github will notify you of what has been changed. SCFs can be accessed by using ssh and accessing your files within ssh. Once you're in your ssh, you can edit the SCFs.
