This is a place to list and describe funding opportunities for people in the lab (students, post-docs, etc.) including scholarships, fellowships, and travel awards. Feel free to add new sources of funding you find and also update existing ones.
- Due Date: Dec. 1st
- Amount: $17,500/year for 1 year
- Due Dates: Dec. 1st (if starting in May or Sept of following year) & Feb. 15th (if starting in May of same year or January of following year)
- Amount: $10,000/year for 2 years
- Note this is an entrance scholarship so the due dates are BEFORE you start.
- Due Dates: January?
- Amount: $10,000/year for 2 years (if applied for in 1st year, then just one year of funding)
- Must also apply for a major national scholarship.
- Due Date: Mid Jan
- Amount: $20,000/2 years
- You do actually need to apply for this yourself, even though it says on the Dal website that you need to be nominated.
- Due Date: Oct. 15th
- Amount: $21K (or 35k for CGS D) for 2 to 3 years
- Due Dates: Dec. 1st (if starting in May or Sept of following year) & Feb. 15th (if starting in May of same year or January of following year)
- Amount: $15,000/year for 4 years
- Note this is an entrance scholarship so the due dates are BEFORE you start.
- Must also apply for a major national scholarship.
- Due Date: Mid Jan
- Amount: $20,000/2 years or $30,000 for 2 to 3 years.
- You do actually need to apply for this yourself, even though it says on the Dal website that you need to be nominated.
- Due Date: Dec. 15th
- Amount: Up to $55,000/year, benefits, travel allowance to and from Halifax, one-time research allowance of $3000, and a $1000 conference grant.
- Due date: 1 month before conference
- Value: up to $500
- Only eligible for 1 travel grant per degree
- Due Date ~ End of February
- Amount: $2000
- Must have confirmation of abstract acceptance
- Due date: set by university
- Up to $6,000 for 3-6 months
- Must have a CGS award from the tri-council organizations (or a Vanier)
- Due date: Feb. 1
- ~$3,900 for 8 weeks, travel starts at the end of June
- Must hold NSERC PGS/CGS or Vanier CGS
- Due date: ~May-June
- Value: $10,000 for 4-6 weeks in Ireland
- Due date: 3 April
- Value: $6000 for 12-24 weeks
