This document explains how you can see and change many of the keyboard shortcuts in Zettelkasten.

Zettelkasten settings file

The Zettelkasten settings file is one of the configuration files where Zettelkasten saves the user preferences. The default name of the Zettelkasten settings file is 'zettelkasten-settings.zks3' and is located in the .Zettelkasten folder in the User home directory. (An example for Windows is 'C:\Users\mateu.Zettelkasten\zettelkasten-settings.zks3'.)

The Zettelkasten settings file is a zip file, so you can unzip it with your regular zip software. Inside, you will find different files. For the Keyboard shortcuts, you want to look into the files that start with "acceleratorKeys".

Accelerator keys

Accelerator keys is how keyboard shortcuts are called in Zettelkasten. The accelerator keys configuration files are XML documents, where each element inside the main is a mapping from "keyboard shortcut" to the "name of the associated action".

By looking and editing these accelerator keys configuration files with a text editor, you can see and change the existing keyboard shortcuts of your Zettelkasten.
