New:

  • Generation now supports plando for both portals and transitions. To use this reference this guide. Both portal and transition plando are done using the connections plando. Portals can be found here and transitions can be found here.

For portals format is:

- entrance: Autumn Hills
  exit: Forlorn Temple - Outside Shop
  direction: both

For transitions format is:

- entrance: Ninja Village - Right
  exit: Forlorn Temple - Right
  direction: entrance

If direction is omitted it will default to "both".

Fixes:

  • A handful of warp points that had bad coordinates causing soft lock.
  • Transition shuffle and limited movement are now compatible allowing for logically unreachable transitions.

v0.13.0 full release!

New:

  • Adds two new sub option menus to the options menu

    • Archipelago Randomizer for entering connection info and most of the other various randomizer options
    • Solo Randomizer for generating a settings file to use with Archipelago and generate offline seeds. The file output from this menu can be found in /The Messenger/Archipelago and can be used for multiworlds just like any other yaml file. A file must exist and be output before the offline generation will work.
  • Portal opening cutscene and Quarble introduction cutscene will now be played at the beginning of a seed.

    • Portals not opened in the cutscene will be open upon returning to HQ
  • Reset Randomizer Slots button is gone. To start a seed, simply load into a new game after either connecting to an Archipelago server or generating an offline seed.

  • Dialog popups for items that you find has returned to being instant instead of delayed.

  • If disconnected from the Archipelago server while playing in a multiworld, the Enter Port button will reappear in the Archipelago Randomizer menu in game. This means if the port on a multiworld you're already playing in changes, you can change the port in game without needing to re-enter all of your info. It will attempt to reconnect automatically.

  • New generator options:

    • Limited Movement
      • Removes either rope dart or wingsuit from the itempool and forces you to hard logic.
    • Early Meditation
    • Portal Rando
      • The number of available portals at the beginning is randomizable, as well as the areas where the portals lead.
        • Autumn Hills, Howling Grotto, and Glacial Peak portals cannot be disabled due to being hard activated by the
          cutscene
    • Transition shuffle
      • Transitions between levels can now be shuffled, and can be coupled or uncoupled, with coupled returning you to
        where you just were before transitioning.

All of the new generator options require a newer build of Archipelago with some custom code included here as both an archive and a setup. The setup version is required for the offline generation to function. The setup version will also add a new button in the Archipelago Launcher that will update your mod, if necessary, and launch the game for you.

Known Issues:

  • Teleporting out of boss rooms still cause issues - including the Corrupted Future chase. If you teleport out of a boss room, immediately quit to title upon saving.

  • Adds the 3 missing transitions to the shuffle pool. Glacial -> Elemental and Elemental -> Glacial are considered two separate one ways since they're on opposite edges of Elemental. Forlorn <-> Bamboo is now a two way. Glacial <-> Cloud Ruins is now a two way.

Fixes:

  • An issue that caused transition shuffle to be non-deterministic
  • An issue that caused transition shuffle to occasionally fail
  • An issue that caused the initial elemental shmup section to be skipped when ER was disabled
  • An issue that caused the "Enter Archipelago Port" button to appear in the menu in offline seeds

No changes on generation side so just including everything from alpha-7 for convenience and parity
