Science Cafes

Presenting is one of the key skills every researcher should posses. Presenting project proposals, reporting progress, research findings at conferences and meetings, speed talks, to thesis defenses are all part of the scientists public speaking journey. They also need to learn how to receive feedback and answer questions. This is what we seek to achieve with the science cafe. To create a platform for our members to practice and master these skills.

You can apply to present in the science cafe by filling out our contact us form with the subject SCIENCE CAFE. We look forward to having your presentations.

Tool Hub

We run very many analyses as bioinformaticians, and there are multiple tools developed to run these analyses. The tools selected are influenced by many factors such as computational power, type of data, expected results, time, and more. For the ToolHub program, the goal is to go through different analysis workflows specifically looking at the tools available for each step with their pros and cons, and at the end of the session, participants come out knowing where to start with resources available to them.

The RNASeq ToolHub

This June we will be having a session on all things RNASeq analysis tools. Details to follow soon.
