  8. If package installed successfully, you should see it moved over to the "Installed" Tab.
  9. You are now done. Close DIM and then start Daz Studio to test the BETA.

KNOWN ISSUES:

  • UE side plugins are not yet embedded into Daz side plugin. Download and install manually.
  • Mac version of UE 5.1 plugin not yet available due to unresolved build tools issues with cross-compiling x86/arm64.
  • Baking character skin textures may result in materials with no assigned image filename, however, the image will be correctly copied into project's content folder. Work-around is to manually assign image file to material.

DazToUnreal 2023 v1.2 (2023.1.2.63)

Update 2024-April-24:

  • Uploaded Unreal Project Plugin binaries that are built for UE 5.4.0
  • No source code changes made
  • To Install: Make sure all other versions of this plugin are removed from the project folder and the engine plugins folders. Then unzip DazToUnreal.2023.1.2-UE54-win64-project-plugin.zip into your UE 5.4 project plugins folder, ex: \UnrealProject_for_UE54\plugins\DazToUnreal\
  • If you are having trouble loading the plugin, you may need to manually enable the MLDeformer plugin, please see issue #79 for details

Known Issues:

  • Sending Animations and Poses from Daz Studio to UE 5.3 is currently not working, resulting in Fbx import failure or editor crash.
  • When exporting morphs with Genesis 9 figures, all currently installed character morphs matching the same morph name will be loaded and exported; leading to increased time, space and memory requirements. For installations with very large number of G9 characters, this may lead to excessive RAM requirements and crashes. The current work-around is to decrease the number of installed G9 characters or decrease the number of exported morphs. A fix is on the way.
  • Some JCMs with multiple joint axis dependencies may not automatically load into memory and export correctly. The current work-around is to load them manually into memory by posing the joint until the JCM is activated, then resetting the character and exporting. A fix is on the way.

Hotfixes:

  • Initial release with UE 5.3 support was built with 5.3 Preview instead of 5.3 Release, now fixed
  • Daz Studio and Unreal Engine plugin versions are now synchronized

What's new in the 2023.1.2 release:

  • Unreal Engine 5.3 support
  • Integration with latest Daz Bridge Library
  • Support for automatic Unreal Engine LOD generation
  • Genesis 8 twist bone fix for the UE 5.2+ IKRetargeter
  • Re-Import Crash Protection Code
