Learn your receivers

After configuring network + jarolift specific settings, you can learn your shutter motors and receivers to recognize the dongle.

How does it work?

The jarolift devices operate in a one-way radio communication. The sender emits a radio datagram that contains a serial number and code which key was pressed. Receivers must know which sender serial numbers they should act on. Each receiver can store 15 or more sender serials.

Storing these sender serial numbers in the receiver is called "learning" or "learn" and happens in two steps:

  1. A specific receiver is put into learn mode and stays 5sec in this learn mode
  2. During the short period of time (5sec) it stores the first sender serial number it receives.

Two Options:

  1. Put the receiver (radio controlled tubular motor TDEF, wall mounted radio receivers TDRR, TDRRT etc) into learning mode by pressing the appropriate key(s) as described in the specific device manual
  2. Put the receiver into learning mode by pressing a specific key combination, in the device manuals this is described as "copying an existing radio code"

Troubleshooting:

  • If the learn modus doesn't work, first try another "channel serial number prefix" and check mark "save prefix and generate channel serial numbers"
