Berlin Long Read SV Caller Starting point

David Heller in the Vingron lab of the MPI-MG and Tim White in the Kehr lab at BIH have both developed an SV caller for long read sequencing data. Instead of competing with each other, we want to join forces and combine the two tools, SVIM and SVIRL, into one better and more versatile tool.

For this goal, Lydia Buntrock and David Heller are working on a new tool (iGenVar) that will combine these and other tools. Below is a workflow of what iGenvar looks like: workflow

We defined our default parameters by several benchmarks: https://github.com/seqan/iGenVar/pull/207.

Our first results of enhancing short read sets with some long reads: https://github.com/seqan/iGenVar/pull/209.
