Welcome to the “aws” wiki!
* * * FOR DOCUMENTATION OF INDIVIDUAL FEATURES, look at the “Pages” links to the right * * *
The “aws” tool is used from the command line to access Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, and Amazon SQS. We don’t know how many people are using it because Amazon provides no such statistics. Our best guess is that “aws” is very popular. It is probably the most popular command line tool outside Amazon’s own tools. And we know that some Amazon employees are starting to use “aws” instead.
“aws” is the top rated community contributed code at Amazon. Thank you for your 5-star ratings!
You can find extensive documentation for “aws” at http://timkay.com/aws/. There is a FAQ at http://timkay.com/aws/howto.html ; however, we will be adding new FAQ items to this wiki.
Recently we have moved development of “aws” to github, and we are slowly starting to make use of all the features. For example, I noticed that some of you are “watching”, so that you will be notified of any changes.
We welcome feedback. If you have any problems, have suggestions, or want to help out, let me know. I am at [email protected], or “timkay” on Skype and AIM.
