Appearance

The Vine Helper user interface has 2 modes, depending on your browser settings. A light mode and a dark mode.

The user interface color appearance is determined by your browser's settings. The Vine webpage is determined by the dark-mode.css selection under Styles.

There are 3 different tab options within Vine Helper.

Available Tab

The Available tab shows all items enrolled in the Vine program.

Unavailable Tab

This feature adds an Unavailable tab above the item's listing. It uses shared information from other members' attempts to order an item. It will display a count of how many successful orders were identified, and how many failed orders were identified.

This tab was created due to the mass amount of "zombie" listings created in early 2024 when Vine failed to properly remove unavailable items. Zombie listings are listings that would hang around after they reached their maximum request allotment.

The Unavailable tab works when users opt to Share Community Data with Vine Helper. If a user that has opted in clicks on "Request Item" and receives an ITEM_NOT_IN_ENROLLMENT error message, then 1 "error" vote is counted. If the user is successful then 1 "success" vote is counted. Any majority of confirmations will dictate if the item should be under the Available tab or Unavailable tab.

error options

This shows an item with one "error" vote (red), an item with one "success" vote (green), and one item with no votes (white).

Hidden Tab

When activated, the hidden tab system will add a tab named "Hidden" above the item listing. This will also add icons and links to allow you to move item tiles to the hidden tab so they are no longer cluttering the main listing.

By default, the hidden items are stored locally on your computer. If you use Vine Across multiple devices, you may decide to enable store hidden items remotely.
