Note that unless you actually made changes to bot/pybbb and committed them, you should never git add pybbb and then commit. If it's showing up as changed when you run git status, you need to pull its changes (cd pybbb, git pull). Then when you back out to bot (cd ..), git status should show no changes in bot/pybbb.
