##2/17/15

2/17/15 - Still alive, forgot about the personal log. In the time between the last update and this one, we have successfully created a function node ready for field trials in Barbados. The data taken from the trials is being analyzed right now. My part of the analysis is the visualization of the GPS trails in real time.

##12/8/14

12/8/14 - Successful demo, time to relax.

##12/1/14

12/1/14 - Matt was happy we went back to Moe's for the group meeting. We discussed how we would present and talked about individual progress on the nodes, specifically how the camera isn't playing nice for anyone.

12/5/14 - We went to Lake Murray for our final demo. I kayak'd with the red Pi. Afterwards I worked on our presentation while Danny made the video.

12/6/14 - Presentation time. ##11/24/14

11/24 - We went to Maddio's instead of Moe's which annoyed Matt and made me laugh. We discussed progress on the nodes and what we are going to do for the demo.

##11/17/14

11/17 - Group met for lunch again. We got the R-Pi cameras and the batteries we are planning to use.

11/19 - Group met with Ioannis to discuss issues with the Pi, it looks like we are on track.

11/22 - Worked on some ideas for the presentation. Nothing solid yet, but good ideas.

##11/10/14

11/10 - Group met for lunch with a limited discussion on the parts.

11/13 - Worked with Matt trying to fix the ROS node. ROS compiles, most things work, however GPSD (library for GPS) is not playing well right now.

11/15 - Matt, Daniel and I went to Silas's house to work on the project.

##11/3/14

11/5 - I began messing around with ROS on a Linux distribution. Next step is to get it working as a subscriber and publisher.

11/7 - Group met with Dr. Rekleitis. We discussed ROS's set up and what we should be looking for in a battery.

11/9 - Starting to get familiar with ROS, next step is to move on to the Raspberry PIs and the joy that comes with that.

##10/27/14

10/27 - Weekly Group meeting. Discussions were held about what happened over the weekend. ROS is on one of the SD cards, Matt got IMU data off the R-Pi using the IMU's built-in libraries.

##10/20/14

10/20 - Weekly group meeting. We worked on Milestone 8.

10/22 - Got "ROSbian" onto the SD card. It doesn't run very nicely, is very glitchy. Main issue is that it only works a select few times.

##10/13/14

10/13 - Weekly group meeting at Moe's.

10/17 - Weekly meeting with Dr. Ioannis. We discussed what OS to put on the R-Pis. We will investigate using ROS (robot operating system) on top of a Linux based OS for an R-Pi. I will be setting up an R-Pi with ROS this weekend for testing purposes.

##10/6/14

10/7 - Group met to solder parts to their headers, unfortunately the iron did not work. So Silas and Matt left to go to Matt's house outside Columbia to work on it.

10/8 - Group met with Dr. Vidal

10/10 - Group met with Dr. Ioannis to discuss the functional requirements in detail

##9/29/14 9/29 - Weekly group meeting, parts were discussed.

10/3 - Group met Dr. Ioannis who gave us the first batch of parts that came in.

##9/22/14 9/24 - Group met with Dr. Vidal, where we discussed progress on the project.

9/26 - Group met with Dr. Ioannis to discuss progress on the project. We determined a rough schedule of plans moving forward.

##9/15/14

9/15 - Group met for lunch again, where we discussed the main parts of the design. Each is doing individual research on various parts, including IMUs, GPS, Wi-Fi, and the main computing power as well as possible alternatives. The main points in the research are the power, compatibility, and most importantly price.

9/8/14

9/8 - Group met for lunch, where we determined what specific roles each of us would fill. I volunteered and was selected as "Tester" for the group. We are waiting until we meet with the client before proceeding any further.

9/9 - Group met with Dr. Ioannis Rekleitis to discuss the details of the project. We discussed the broad details of the device and agreed to met again in a week to narrow down the choices.

9/12 - Group met to write personas. I was in charge of writing Persona 2, Frank Garzelli the Fisherman.
