User Evaluation Session Plan

Session run by: Xue Huang Studio and Game Name: Studio 7 – Retroactive Feature Team Name: Team 5 Location of Testing: Discord

Background

Team 5's feature is the game loop, so far our win and loss screen is working properly after modify based on user testing feedback, and the timer has also been improved to better integrate with the features team 2 is responsible for. in addition, we are working on design background music and implement music into the game to improve user experience in the game. We choose to user test background music and timer features as they are integral part of the game which are necessary and easy to be tested. We want to evaluate whether the design of the timer and background music are what people wants.

Aims & Objectives

What do people think of our timer design? Is the background music chosen in line with the theme of the game and the user likes it, we want to see these design are used correctly for their allocated purposes.

Prototype

Tester would play the game running at branch 'game_loop_team_5' to test timer validation and background music

Testing plan

"Determine whether the timer are valid and alerts the user correctly"

  1. Explain the purpose of the timer and what the game is about.
  2. Show user the game and how the game play, it would help user understand the theme of game correctly.
  3. Ask the tester to play the game to see if the change style of timer would alerts user
  4. Ask the tester to run around deliberately on purpose wastes time to see timer would trigger time out condition correctly.

"Determine whether the background music fit the theme and user friendly"

  1. Explain game theme and what the game is about
  2. Show tester the game and the background musics for each stages to see if they like the music and think it fit the theme
