Taito Type X
Important Note :
You may encounter different version of these games, some as standalone, and some with Jconfig.
All these different releases are working with DemulShooter.
This game is not a real lightgun game, but a tactile screen hardware and balls to send on it.
There are no difference between different players (score, life, etc....) so you can play up to 4 players coop with DemulShooter.
-
Unpack the game and run the Jconfig.exe
-
Set your Start, Service, and other buttons as needed in Jconfig. DemulShooter will handle the Trigger button so you can leave it empty.
-
Go to JConfig “Settings” and make sure “Mouse Active” is unchecked.
This does not prevent DemulShooter to work but if the mouse is active it will stay captured in the window and it may be disturbing later if some kind of wrapping/full-screen program is created.
This is my preference but it’s optionnal... -
Run DemulShooter for this game:
DemulShooter.exe -target=ttx -rom=bkbs
-
Play the game, no need for calibration
Block King Ball Shooter
Mouse Buttons | Left | Middle | Right |
Action | Trigger | / | / |
This game is meant to run on a dual screen setup, with both of them set as 1280x720 portrait mode.
So for obvious reasons, DemulShooter will only support the windowed-single-display mode you can obtain by using the Jconfig utility in the package.
-
Unpack the game and run the JconfigEA.exe
-
Go to “Settings” and make sure “Mouse Active” is unchecked.
This does not prevent DemulShooter to work but if the mouse is active it will stay captured in the window and it may be disturbing later if some kind of wrapping/full-screen program is created.
This is my preference but it’s optionnal... -
You can change the game’s language/audio by choosing the region
-
Back to JconfigEA main screen, check Direct3D9 Wrapper and DX Window Mode
-
Set the needed keys (Start, Coin, Exit, etc….) :
Both player’s TRIGGER, OFFSCREEN and GUN BUTTON are not needed
SELECT key is needed to close doors in game and skip cinematics -
Run DemulShooter for this game:
DemulShooter.exe -target=ttx -rom=eadp
-
Play the game, no need for calibration
Elevator Action: Death Parade Controls
Mouse Buttons | Left | Middle | Right |
Action | Trigger | Gun Button | Reload |
- Screen is black during cinematics: that’s normal ! On the arcade machine, elevator doors are closed and cinematics are playing in another monitor which is not shown here on the single-windowed-mode
- You can map keyboard keys in Jconfig then use AHK to bind your devices/buttons afterward, or if it’s beeing recognized by Jconfig as a gamepad, you can directly bind your gamepad’s button.
You can set TRIGGER, OFFSCREEN and GUN BUTTON but they will no longer work with DemulShooter. - You can enable Fullscreen support (may be possible or not according to your screen specs) by doing the following :
- At Step 4, uncheck Dx Window Mode in Jconfig
- Use DgVoodoo with the following setting in "Appearance" : Full Screen / Stretched, keep aspect ratio
- You'll have to go to the game's TEST menu and run a gun calibration to set the aim correctly
-
Unzip the game and make sure it’s working correctly (audio & video codecs)
-
Open the game
MINIGUN.INI
file make sure you have :
JVSENABLE 0
GUNENABLE 0
-
If using JConfig version of the game, make sure this line is removed from the
MINIGUN.INI
file:
GUN_NUM_FAKE 0
-
Run DemulShooter for this game :
DemulShooter.exe -target=ttx -rom=gattack4
-
Just run game.exe and play, no need for calibration.

Install the game and make sure it's working correctly.
If you want to play with the Dual Screen modified exe, you'll have to add the following custom resolution to your computer : 1280x480 -
If you want to play like the arcade game (you're hiding when the gun is pointed out of the screen), jump to step 3.
Overwise, if you want to use a pedal system to hide (like Time Crisis series), run the GUI window of DemulShooter and activate the pedal mode in the Gundam tab. You can choose a keyboard key for the pedal. If you're using an arcade panel or a joystick, you can simulate later the selected pedal key with AutoHotkey -
Run DemulShooter for this game, according to the version you're playing (Single Screen / Dual Screen):
DemulShooter.exe -target=ttx -rom=gsoz
or
DemulShooter.exe -target=ttx -rom=gsoz2p
-
Play the game, no need for calibration

- If you run the original exe you'll see that I remapped mouse buttons controls. This is on purpose :
right-click was originally used to switch to bazooka but on most configuration, right-click on Aimtrak is set to off-screen trigger, making the change of weapon impossible...
-
Open the game MUSEUM.INI file make sure you have :

There are 2 different versions available of this game :
- One was a Taito game (Haunted Museum 2)
- The other one was a Global VR game (Fright Fear Land)
Here's a link to a patching utility for FFL/HauntedMuseum 2 : use it to open the game.exe
file and know which version you have :
FFL+HM2_NoCrosshair_Patcher
This part of the Wiki is focusing with Taito Type X version (Haunted Museum. A few different binaries are available and supported :

The game binary must be named to game.exe
for DemulShooter to be able to hook it !
-
Open the game HAUNTED2.INI file and make sure you have :
JVSENABLE 0
GUNENABLE 0
-
Run DemulShooter for this game :
DemulShooter.exe -target=ttx -rom=hmuseum2
-
If you want to make the game harder (funnier ?) you can run it like this instead :

-
Donwload and install (might be the hardest part !)

You'll find in the game folder a config.bat script to set game keys, but not for Player2. So use DemulShoter GUI to set both players controls (see DemulShooter Configuration).
-
Run DemulShooter for this game:
DemulShooter.exe -target=ttx -rom=sha
-
Run
KSHA_no_cursor.exe
-
Just play the game WITHOUT doing any calibration, aim is completely off in SERVICE menu but will work as expected in game.
