Status as of 26th August 2014

Current state;

  • We have a working firmware on the prototyping board.

    • Found at http://www.digilentinc.com/atlys/
    • Costs 19.00 for normal people
    • Costs 30.00 for students
    • Gives you 1 buffered input (supports long cables), 1 unbuffered input (supports only short cables)
    • Gives you 2 buffered output
    • Has a 1gig ethernet port - We had a student make it mostly work during GSoC.
  • We have the first couple of our production boards that @mithro is working on getting running.

    • Will be found at http://numato.com/
    • Will cost around ~$500 for the "conference model" which is high end and lots of features.
      • Has 2 DVI inputs, 2 DVI outputs (which do 720p), has another 1 input DVI and 1 output DVI (which do 1080p).
      • Has an expansion board which adds another 4 input/output ports.
      • Has an expansion board which does a VGA port.
    • Will cost around ~50 for the "budget model" which has everything non-optional removed.
      • Has 2 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI inputs.

Also have a current pending projects;

  • HDMI2Ethernet - I have a plan for a board which costs $75 USD in single unit quantities (so should be $45 in mass quantities) and "hand solderable". We don't really have much time to work on this at the moment.

  • HDMI2USB on the Zybo - http://www.digilentinc.com/Products/Detail.cfm?NavPath=2,400,1198&Prod=ZYBO

    • This is a series 7 FPGA coupled with a dual core "mobile style" ARM processor.
    • Costs $189.00 for normal people, Costs $125.00 for students.
    • Runs a full high speed Linux system.
    • @shenki is currently working on this.
    • Has 1Gig Ethernet.
