Settings

All persistent settings are changeable here. Additionally to these, the main window size and position will be stored.

Locations

Set different location related settings. You can change the current save path and were you want to have you collections. You can only select the root directory for the collections and each type will be automatically saved to a subfolder.

You can also add and remove custom default locations. These will be checked at startup for saves as the default PC locations. Adding a lot of folders here obviously slows down the startup process.

Behaviors

Language

The language you want to use NomNom in. At first start this is automatically set based on the language you use for your OS.

Untranslated text will be shown in english regardless.

The following langauges are supported:

Completion
English Complete
German (Deutsch) Low
Korean (한국어) Low

Landing Page

What page to show at startup. Currently no use.

Loading Strategy

How the save should be loaded when a detected platform or directory is selected. There are 3 modes to select from:

  • Current: Only the currently selected save is kept in memory and each selection change reloads the data from the file.
  • Partial (default): All saves that were selected (without changing the platform) are kept in memory and do not need to be reloaded when selected again.
  • Full: Loads all saves at startup and let you switch between them very fast. Increases startup time and memory usage depending on the number of saves you have.

Preferred Platform

Changes the order the platforms are check in when a new directory is selected. This is only used for non-PC default locations.

For example if you use GOG.com and moved your saves to another location it will usually be shown as Steam as it is check first and no difference between those two platforms. Selecting GOG.com as preferred platform will give you that as result for the same folder.

Modes

Restriction

This settings let you choose between different play-styles/usage-types. Depending on the selected value specific things get restricted or restrictions are lifted.

These modes are available:

  • Vanilla: Only allows you to do what is possible in-game.
  • Default: Allows as much as possible but stops where the game enforces something.
  • Modding: Removes all restrictions except it would break your save and allows the usage of modding database to extend or overwrite existing values.

Restrictions are in place in these areas:

Advanced

Features that can easily break your save if you do not know what you are doing are locked behind this mode.

It enables the JSON Editor in all places and allows you to set resource strings directly in the UI where used.

Debug

If enabled it shows some additional data like ids where it is useful for the developer.

Debug data are visible in these areas:

Autosave

Instead of marking your save as modified, your changes are directly written to the file.

Miscellaneous

Additional miscellaneous settings. Choose whether you want the last write date to be updated, show a notification if you save while the game is running, and how to open Discord links.

You can also choose how many backups you want to keep for a single save. The default is 3.
