Why does my participant has a suffix added to the id I entered?

When the operator is working offline and registers a new participant, the entered id is verified against the participant which are previously synchronized with the server to avoid duplicate IDs. When going online with the device all data is being synchronized and it might happen that this id was also created via another device. In that case, in order to avoid duplicates, a suffix is added to the id.
