Tab Output
The section contains the characteristics associated with the output output quantity.
The user can select the type of dosimetric value to be calculated. It can be one of the following values:
- Effective dose;
- Equivalent dose;
- Ambient dose equivalent H*(10);
- Air Kerma;
- Exposure dose;
- Personal dose equivalent Hp(10) (10 mm, for body surface);
- Personal dose equivalent Hp(0.07) (0.07 mm, skin surface).
The fundamental value that is calculated regardless of the selected dose type is the air kerma rate. Dose conversion factors from ICRP Publication 116 are used to convert from kerma in air to effective or equivalent dose. The coefficients from ICRP Publication 74 are used to transfer to the other dosimetric quantities.
Contains a list of dose points at which the dose rate is calculated.
The diagrams of dose point locations relative to the source are presented on the page Geometry schemes. The calculation is performed for each dose point. The number of dose points is unlimited.
Contains additional parameters for calculation and output value.
Number of decimal places
- limits the number of decimal places for output values.
Turn off self-absorption
- disables the accounting for self-absorption of bremsstrahlung in the source material.
Show partial dose rates
- includes display of dose rate for each energy group of quanta of bremsstrahlung.
This function allows to set the environment material, which is then automatically taken into account in the calculation. The material is selected from the drop-down list. Upon changing the selected material, its effective atomic number and density are automatically inserted into the corresponding fields. The user can adjust the density and effective atomic number values of the environmental substance.
