Sourcebook View

The sourcebook view can display the rule definition of a selected object when you link your pdf to it. It can be access thru the Windows->shadowrun views->Sourcebook View

To link a source book, open the preferences Windows->Preferences and select the file for the sourcebook.

The offset defines the number of pages the viewer need to adjust with the real pages in the pdf. Normally the offset will be two, as the first two pages of the pdf have no page numbers.

The first time you access an object linked with a pdf, the view need to load these pdf, this is done in the background -you can see a small progress bar in the right bottom corner- and may need a while, after the document is loaded, the text extraction will be quite fast, the selection in the view will change with the selection of objects.

You could browse a bit in the source book with the

  • next
  • previous
  • goto page

actions.

There is an sourcebook perspective which displays the soucebook view on the whole bottom when you open the editor for the 'Resources' and the source links of your source books, you have quite a reference system for quick answering the question: What is written.

sourcebook-view Search for a particular item in the resource set, display the rule text by selecting the item you are interested in.

sourcebook-view Search for a part in the source book by filter and select a sourceLink entry.
