These are similar to the mesoSPIM-V5, except the optical table requirement.

The floor should be solid concrete to avoid vibrations from walking.

Windows should be covered with black curtains or absent.

Enough space for a desk with a large (40inch) screen for the imaging computer and 2-3 chairs.

Power outlets: Foresee enough power outlets for the instrument. Total power uptake is a few kW at maximum

Optical table is not required. The Benchtop mesoSPIM, as its name suggests, can be placed on a sturdy bench, desk, or even a cart.

Active ventilation is required when working with BABB, DBE, or any other toxic chemicals.

Air conditioning, especially for long-running acquisitions.

For sample preparation, a wet lab bench, a hood and a sink in the vicinity of the microscope.

Chemicals must be handled in a fume hood, and stored in a safe cabinet (many of them are toxic and/or highly flammable).

Observe all relevant chemical, laser, trash disposal, and fire hazard safety rules of your institute. Take the safety rules seriously, they are written in blood.

Do not dispose chemicals into the water stream.
