Stygian Iron is the Tier 1 material. To create a Stygian Iron Ingot, you must either smelt down a Stygian Dragon Egg or craft it using a full durability, unmodified green essence item and some regular iron ingots. The method and crafting recipe for doing this can be seen below;

Raw Stygian Iron Slag can be crafted using any of the following items below as the center ingredient, so long as it fits the requirements of being full durability and remains exactly as it was dropped;

  • Allihu's Deathvest
  • Apollo's Sandals
  • Circlet of Calypso
  • Diadem of the Stars
  • Fishbone Armor
  • Gront's Compound Bow
  • Iceborn Cudgel
  • Joehn's Whip
  • Mercury Treads
  • Miner's Trousers
  • Miner's Tunic
  • Spirit Shield
  • Shears of Polyphemus
  • Spellthief's Edge
  • Stephen's Stiletto
  • The Golden Shovel
  • The Reckoner
  • Xera's Boots
  • Zephyr's Zipper

It can also be crafted by smelting a Stygian Dragon Egg in a blast furnace, producing 1 Raw Stygian Iron Slag.
