Roadmap
This living document lays out the plans and roadmap for the development of AidStream.
XML Import will allow the users to import XML files directly into the system. For now, we will support V1.05 and V2.01 only to start with in this release.
Currently Organisation public page doesn't contain useful information. We plan to add more interactive visualisation and dashboard to the public page so that organisations can share their page directly from AidStream.
We plan to introduce wizard based activity creation process, where the users will be guided through a set of steps to create the activities. We hope this would help the users quickly adopt AidStream, without having to understand in details about IATI and its fields. The users could always use the existing process of creating activities.
Currently the users will have to find the organisation identifiers of any organisation, that they are entering into the system like in participating organisation, provider organisation in transaction. We plan to integrate the system with the datastore so that the users would be able to select the organisation identifier from the list, which will be powered by the datastore API.
AidStream doesn't have activity view page for public. These will be linked through the organisation public page, and the users will be able to share their activity page through different social media. The activity page will also have commenting feature (like disqus or facebook), which could be enabled/disabled by the users themselves.
The results element has a complex structure, making the entry process difficult. The users will be able to import the results via CSV into the system.
We plan to introduce the localised version of Aidstream in at least one language (probably spanish) to start with.
With this feature, each activity can be given access to a particular user, so that the users will be able to update that particular activity only - unlike now where the users with edit access can update all the activities in their account.
Anyone would be able to browse through the activities published through AidStream. This would link to Organisation Public Page or Activity Public Page.
We plan to introduce the freemium model in AidStream to give better services to the paying users. This shouldn't affect the existing account holders on the features they are currently using.
Users will be able to create the Registry Account directly through AidStream, without having to go to Registry.
The current data entry UI will be improved for better usability.
The current Activity CSV import will be improved to mimic the current CSV converter (maintained by IATI secretariat), which will include number of major IATI elements.
The XML files and documents uploaded to AidStream will be served from Amazon S3, which should ensure the high uptime of these files.
Users will be able to embed the content like project details, visualisations, project list to their websites or other platforms.
